Former President Donald Trump has filed a lawsuit against the New York Times, three of its reporters, and his own niece over a 2018 story about his taxes. Trump alleges the NY Times concocted an “insidious plot” to get sensitive information from Mary Trump.
The plot worked as Mary turned over personal documents despite being under a confidentiality agreement at the time. According to the lawsuit, Donald Trump is seeking “no less than One Hundred Million Dollars” in damages. If he prevails, one would expect most of that sum to be be paid by the NY Times.
