Rep. Thomas Massie shrugged off President Trump’s call to unseat him, saying on Monday that he’s no longer fazed by the former president’s repeated attacks. “In some sense, I have the Trump antibodies,” Massie said during an appearance on MSNBC’s All In with Chris Hayes.

He explained that his position on the recent U.S. airstrikes in Iran, which he criticized as unconstitutional, reflects a consistent stance regardless of who holds the presidency. “There are a few people here who are consistent and don’t sway in the wind when it’s your president or somebody else’s president, and I’m just trying to be consistent here in this case,” Massie added.

The latest dust-up between the two Republicans began after Massie condemned Trump’s decision to bypass Congress and authorize strikes on Iranian nuclear sites. In response, Trump lashed out, encouraging his base to reject the Kentucky congressman.

“MAGA should drop this pathetic LOSER, Tom Massie, like the plague!” Trump posted on Truth Social. “The good news is that we will have a wonderful American Patriot running against him in the Republican Primary, and I’ll be out in Kentucky campaigning really hard.”

He went on to criticize Massie as “lazy, grandstanding, [and] nonproductive,” distancing him from what Trump describes as the core values of the Make America Great Again movement.

Tensions between Trump and Massie have been simmering for some time, particularly over Trump’s sweeping legislative proposal known as the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act.” Massie was one of the few Republicans who voted against the bill, despite it passing the House by a narrow margin. The disagreement has further strained their relationship, placing Massie among a small group of GOP lawmakers who remain openly critical of Trump’s tactics and policies.
