Should Presidential Electors Back the Popular Winner of Their State? Show Comments 4 Comments Janet Crain on July 8, 2020 I believe we have the right to speak our on mind. If the President doesn’t like who is voted for he should still respect the peoples choice. Joanne C.Walczak on July 9, 2020 No these men were elected to the office of President. They were elected in a very different America than what our country is today. This is the age of instant information. David Druif on July 9, 2020 The only reason the concept of Electors was put in the Constitution was because at the time there was no “instant” communications. When a remote town voted the votes were tabulated and the results handed to an Elector who mounted his horse carried it to Washington. It was never considered he could change vote results. It should stay that way! Rodger Shull on July 9, 2020 I vote for who I feel is the BEST for the job, I do not vote the popular vote and follow the masses, nor do I vote along party lines. I’m there for and INDEPENDENT CONSERVATIVE. And I do not agree 100% with anyone, running or incumbent. but this election, the course is chosen all ready and it will not be a blue vote coming from me.
