That’s a stupid thought, all these malcontent creepy long haired stinky idiots are just destroying the history of our country and the police, Fed’s, Congress just let them. It should be a punishable federal violation with prison time for the smelly creeps that are tearing them down.

    • Gwyllim on June 22, 2020

      Damn SKIPPY!

    • nightlight on June 22, 2020

As soon as the first attack on one of these statues or monuments took place, immediate action should have been taken to protect them, preferably by having them guarded 24/7 by weaponized drones programmed to video and then illuminate anyone caught trying to vandalize, damage, or topple them.
Anything less makes those who didn’t take such measures to guard them accessories to these crimes which should be punished with lengthy prison terms and heavy fines.
Understand that this isn’t about fighting racism or seeking justice for George Floyd’s alleged murder; it’s about erasing our history and destroying our country.

      • Margaret Drumheiser on June 23, 2020

Absolutely agree this is getting out of hand . This is history and destroying this statues is not going to change history. We csnt go back all we can do is change the future and what’s happening now .Destroying these statues is vandalism plane and simple. Anyone caught doing this should be put in prison along side those vandalizing and looting , damaging property and injuring others who are trying to protect their property. They need to protect history and these statues.

  3. Sharon Rountree on June 22, 2020

He was a great leader when America needed one. He was President when my dad was in WWII. He was my dad’s hero.

    • Sher on June 22, 2020

You are confusing the Roosevelts… but this one is also Great and should stay where it is…!

    • Gwyllim on June 22, 2020

That was Franklin D. Roosevelt. The statue is of Theodore.

    • nightlight on June 22, 2020

Sharon Roundtree: Teddy Roosevelt was not president during WW II; he died in 1919, over 20 years before the beginning of WW II.
Franklin Delano Roosevelt was President during WW II.
Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Teddy Roosevelt were two different presidents.

    • Mannie on June 23, 2020

FDR, Teddy’s cousin was President during WW11. Teddy (1901-1913) was the first President to have as a dinner guest at the White House- An Afro-American- Booker T. Washington.

    • Joanna Webb on June 23, 2020

We are talking about TEDDY Roosevelt NOT FRANKLIN!! Teddy was President during the Spanish American war not WWII. But he still deserves to be honored for the mere fact that he was President for Pete’s Sake! This is all so ridiculous and embarrassing that our government should bow to the insane wishes of a mob! Just shows how much guts any of them have.

  4. JOAQUIN ORTIZ on June 22, 2020

IF ANYONE SHOUD BE REMOVE IN THAT DUMP, I MEAN TRUMP FROM OFFICE.

    • Gwyllim on June 22, 2020

    • RDB on June 22, 2020

  5. Robbie Carson on June 22, 2020

No, history is history. None of the statues should be removed just because one group of citizens find them offensive. If white history is to be removed; how about removing black history too- such as Martin Luther King, Jr statues & streets name after him Or, streets name after Mexican Americans? America is mad up of people of ALL races. Giving privileges to just ONE race is definitely NON AMERICAN!

    • russell d remmert on June 22, 2020

      True Robbie

    • Nyleene on June 23, 2020

Robbie, well said! This is just part of our history. We should be proud of how far we’ve come. Before Obama was in office we didn’t have the problems we have now. Its not Trump that separated us again,
it was Obama. I have many black friends and don’t feel any different towards them and my white friends!
Please everyone just calm down. The people rioting should be punished for all the looting and damage they
have caused. If they are wanting us to treat them differently, then act the part. Don’t act like hoods. If that had been all white people doing this, they would have been arrested. Robing and looting and destroying property has nothing to do with the issue. The men responsible for his murder has been
arrested and will be prosecuted. Everything else is just showing how low life they are!

hells bells, EVERYTHING IS “RACIST”- I think My car is racist – I don’t like the color. My yard is racist-I don’t like to have to mow it. My house must be racist-I’m sure somebody doesn’t like my color scheme. My clothes are racist-I have to spend money to get them My hair is racist-it’s turning gray……ad infinitum.

  7. Marcia Fridland on June 22, 2020

When we try to ignore or erase history, we put ourselves and our children in a position where all will have to learn from painful experience rather than history.

  8. Reb with a Cause on June 22, 2020

I thunk the Mayor already took the statue and the base it stands on DOWN. So the Mayor kneels to these terrorist

  9. Edward P. on June 22, 2020

No Statues that depict our historic figures should be removed. History should never be deleted for the benefit of any group because of their political agenda. American history has been rewritten or deleted enough by the socialist/Communists in our educational institutions, in my humble opinion. I grew up in the 1950’s, before political correctness was the rule rather than the exception. I hope that America will survive if a Socialist President is elected in November 2020.

  10. Renee on June 22, 2020

By taking down any of these statues they are wiping out our history. Once that’s done there’s a better chance future generations will repeat mistakes that they would have known about if they could have learned our history. If the confederate flag upsets them they don’t know their history. If these statues upset them they are cream puffs and don’t understand their history. It’s stupid and crazy. Grow up move on mistakes are made that’s life. Their ancestors may have suffered as all of our ancestors have suffered to make a better life for future generations. ALL LIVES MATTER!!!! Focus on the good forgive move on!!!!

  11. Sandra on June 23, 2020

None of the statues should have been damaged or removed. That is our history
and these asswipes doing the damage don’t have a clue about any of the statues.
Many are just being paid to be there and create damage. I want to start seeing
some of our big, strong and intimidating citizens to be at the statues to dare these
little punks to lay a finger on them. These sorry little pigs are cowards and ignorant
boobs. It is time the people stand up and put these punks in their place.

  12. Milton Eaton on June 23, 2020

All our historic statues should be preserved. Are we the Talaban?

  13. Lorey on June 23, 2020

Have they taken f.d.r. statue down yet. WHY NOT ,?????

  14. Robert Picone on June 23, 2020

Unless you are one that hates our country, DO NOT DESTROY A SHRED OF THE FABRIC THAT MADE OUR COUNTRY WHAT IT IS TODAY! History of a country is a unifying thread holding the quilt together. Destroy or neglect that thread and the quilt falls apart!

  15. Clifford on June 23, 2020

If they want to destroy our monuments and statues because they are offensive to them why not start with Martian Luther King statue and being they got the freedom liberty to destroy why not start with the statue of liberty that was created after a sex goddess with a pornography book in her hand. Go check out what the Torah says in Isaiah 24/5 and 26/20 doesn’t it speak of today’s times that we live

  16. Kurt on June 23, 2020

So, who is going to blow up Mount Rushmore?

  17. rm on July 8, 2020

I pray daily that ANYONE associated with removal or a historic monument OF ANY TYPE or renaming a historic place catches the coronavirus with terminal results, especially mayors of cities such as Baltimore, Dallas, Memphis, Richmond, and hundreds more. I also pray that each participant in these mobs catches the coronavirus with a terminal result. Last but not least, I pray that George Soros, Nancy Pelosi, and her thug buddies in Congress catch the coronavirus with terminal results. God is watching, action needed now.
