Ex-Attorney General Bill Barr refuted claims suggesting that the legal issues surrounding former President Trump might interfere with the 2024 elections, terming such views as “misguided.”

“Our legal system doesn’t grant immunity to prominent figures just because they’re eyeing a political role,” Barr stated on Fox News’s “America Reports.” He further noted, “If there’s sufficient time to resolve the matter before the election, it ought to be addressed.”

Barr also responded to a clip of Republican presidential contender and Trump critic, Chris Christie. Christie had previously asserted that Trump’s behaviors and his intent to run once more are the real disruptors of the primary process. Agreeing with Christie, Barr described such disruption allegations as “baseless.”

To emphasize his stance, Barr remarked, “Consider a city leader, under grave financial misconduct charges, asking for a trial delay due to an upcoming election. It’s preposterous.” It’s significant to mention that although Barr served under Trump, he later separated himself by challenging Trump’s claims of election irregularities.
