President Trump publicly criticized some of his former supporters on Wednesday for continuing to focus on documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, signaling his frustration over what he sees as a distraction from his administration’s broader agenda.

In a lengthy post on Truth Social, Trump dismissed renewed interest in the Epstein case as a politically driven “hoax” and said those promoting it have been misled. He referred to the controversy as a “scam” pushed by his political opponents and said he no longer welcomes support from individuals obsessing over the topic.

“Their new scam is what we will forever call the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax,” Trump wrote. “My past supporters have bought into this nonsense completely. They haven’t learned their lesson and probably never will.”

Trump emphasized his record in office, contrasting it with what he called baseless distractions. “I’ve had more success in six months than perhaps any president in history,” he said. “And yet all these people want to talk about is this hoax—driven by fake news and desperate opponents.”

Several Trump-aligned figures, including lawmakers and activists, have recently called for more transparency around the Epstein investigation. Some, like Rep. Lauren Boebert and commentator Laura Loomer, have gone so far as to demand a special counsel to examine the matter further.

For years, some supporters have promoted conspiracy theories suggesting Epstein’s death was not a suicide and that key individuals have been protected from scrutiny. Many had expected that a so-called “client list” would surface, implicating powerful figures.

But Trump, in recent days, has made clear he sees the continued attention as misplaced. “I don’t get it,” he said in a separate interview. “He’s been gone for a long time. He was never a major player in anything meaningful. I truly don’t understand the obsession.”

A recent memo issued by the Department of Justice and the FBI concluded that Epstein died by suicide and that no client list was found. These findings frustrated many in Trump’s base who have long believed otherwise.

Epstein, a disgraced financier accused in multiple cases of trafficking minors, had associations with several high-profile individuals, including public figures from both major political parties and international elites. His longtime associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, has been convicted in connection with the case.
