President Trump lashed out at Charlamagne tha God on Sunday following the radio host’s appearance on Lara Trump’s Fox News show, where Charlamagne suggested the Jeffrey Epstein controversy could be a turning point for traditional conservatives to reclaim the Republican Party from Trump’s MAGA movement.

Taking to Truth Social early Sunday, Trump responded with his trademark fury, calling Charlamagne a “racist sleazebag” and questioning why he uses “God” in his stage name. “The very wonderful and talented Lara Trump, whose show is a big ratings success, put racist sleazebag Charlamagne ‘The God’ on her show,” Trump wrote. “(Why is he allowed to use the word ‘GOD’ when describing himself? Can anyone imagine the uproar there would be if I used that nickname?)”

Trump continued by attacking Charlamagne’s intelligence and credibility, calling him a “Low IQ individual” who “has no idea what words are coming out of his mouth.” He then pivoted to highlight his own record, listing achievements from his presidency and arguing that his leadership speaks for itself.

The comments came in response to an interview aired Saturday in which Charlamagne speculated that internal frustration over Trump’s handling of the Epstein files could open the door for more traditional conservatives to reassert control within the GOP. He told Lara Trump that the MAGA base’s outrage over Trump’s lack of transparency around Epstein could provide cover for establishment Republicans to challenge him without alienating voters.

“I think there’s a political coup going on right now in the Republican Party that people aren’t paying attention to,” Charlamagne said. “I think that this Epstein thing is going to be a way for traditional conservatives to take their party back. I really do. I think that they know this is the issue that has gotten the base riled up. The base, the MAGA base, isn’t letting this issue go.”

He added that for the first time, traditional conservatives may feel emboldened to make a move without backlash from Trump loyalists.

Lara Trump pushed back on that idea, suggesting the political landscape had fundamentally changed. “I don’t think we’ll ever see another typical, kind of, traditional election with traditional Republicans,” she said. “I feel like things have changed.”

Charlamagne agreed that Trump is an anomaly, but warned that Republicans trying to mimic his style would be setting themselves up for failure. “You’re not going to be Donald Trump,” he said. “So if you think you’re going to be able to do what Donald Trump has done, talk the way Donald Trump has talked, get away with what Donald Trump has gotten away with — it’s not going to happen.”

Trump, clearly irritated by the segment, added that media figures like Charlamagne continue to push “false narratives” about him and the party, and that he would not sit silently while being mischaracterized.
