The Trump Organization announced Monday that it is launching a new mobile phone service called Trump Mobile, marking the company’s latest business venture during President Trump’s second term a move that is already drawing scrutiny from critics raising ethical concerns.
Donald Trump Jr., the president’s eldest son, unveiled the new project alongside his brother Eric Trump at an event held at Trump Tower in New York City. The announcement coincided with the 10-year anniversary of their father’s original 2015 presidential campaign launch.
Trump Jr. said the decision to enter the mobile phone industry stemmed from a belief that the sector has seen “lackluster performance” and presents an opportunity to offer technology to a market he described as “underserved.”
With Trump Mobile, he said, the company plans to offer more than just basic phone service. “We’re going to be introducing an entire package of products,” he said at the press event, explaining that the service will include features like telemedicine access via smartphone, roadside assistance, and unlimited texting to over 100 countries all bundled into a single monthly plan.
“We think we’re going to be giving something unique to the American people,” Trump Jr. added, positioning the launch as part of a broader effort to expand the Trump brand into the tech and communications space.
