St. Louis is a thug city. Since I never lost anything there, I never have to go back. Live in filth you morons. I would have thought you idiots would have learned that Michael Brown was a POS and your community is much better off without him in the world. Yes, I know Ferguson is not St. Louis, but it is close enough. Wake up before you are DEAD.

Any sane and logical person understands that if there is no resistance, why should criminals refrain from breaking the law? Of course it seems the city council doesn’t believe in law or protection of the residents.

Sadly many liberal cities and states are actively defunding the police. They are clearly run by mental midgets. In California they are now going to release at least 76,000 criminals, both non violent and VIOLENT, In New York City a man charged with 42 violent hate crimes was released with NO bail. Anyone who stays in these out of control areas is just asking to be a victim of crime.

All places that defund the blue, you deserve what you get. Just how stupid are you people.
Next time a crime is committed against you or your family or friends call your government see how fast you are saved

Worked downtown St. Louis for many years and was oh so glad to be able to retire. Rode the bus from out in the county to downtown arriving before sunup and leaving after sundown. I’m caucasian and I had several of the black male drivers to advise me what busses to never ride and what areas never to visit. (I’m not saying all drivers were black, not even alluding to that as half were caucasian). They said they were not safe and to avoid. That was back in 2000 and I’ve never had even the least bit of temptation to EVER go back into downtown. Wasn’t safe then and because of the leftist leadership (mmm use the word “leadership” loosely) the safety is worse. Now the citizens elected a mayor due to the color of her skin, one that was treasurer of the city and milked it for her personal uses. Yep that’s St. Louis now. The previous mayor bent over and kissed *** and removed statues that had stood in areas of St. Louis for decades and decades because of the illiterate morons that reside there now. Once a classy city and one tourists loved to visit is now a crime ridden hole that is not safe for anyone.

I wonder if these morons we call politicians would think the same way about defunding the police if they were not surrounded by bodyguards?
Of course crime rates will rise. Whether it is Detroit, NYC or Honolulu. Without a police force, there will be no one to protect and serve the public! Defunding the police is the stupidest idea ever!!!

I would have preferred a simple Yes or No. Saying crime will “skyrocket” in St. Louis is a bit of hyperbole. Unless there is a complete breakdown of all remaining civility in that town I don’t see how “skyrocket” fits. It hasn’t far to go. As a child, I really enjoyed the Zoo, the outdoor, evening performances of the symphony and opera, Just getting to the airport on a local train with son and wife was an experience in “unease” as two of the other passengers decided it was an appropriate venue for them to demonstrate their skills with a knife.

St Louis isn’t exactly the best example of a crime free environment that warrants a cut in funds.
