Brian Laundrie and Gabby Petito embarked on a cross-country trip together in June, but Laundrie returned to Florida alone on September 1 and immediately retained a lawyer.

Petito’s remains were later recovered in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. Initial autopsy results have confirmed Petito’s cause of death was homicide.

Laundrie is a “person of interest” in the case, but not officially a suspect. He has since gone missing and a massive manhunt is underway to locate him. Authorities have speculated he may have injured himself or taken his own life.
