Cher Intends to Relocate if Trump Prevails in 2024 Election
Iconic singer Cher has expressed her intention to exit the U.S. should former President Donald Trump triumph over President Biden in the forthcoming election.
In a recent discussion with The Guardian, she revealed the considerable stress she experienced during his previous presidency, hinting at a potential move away from the U.S. if Trump secures another term.
The renowned performer isn’t new to vocalizing her disapproval of Trump. Back in June 2015, amidst a chorus of celebrities like Miley Cyrus, Snoop Dogg, and Chelsea Handler, Cher humorously tweeted her plan to depart for Jupiter if Trump clinched his initial victory.
Despite Trump’s win over Hillary Clinton in 2016 and subsequent loss to Biden in 2020, he’s vying for a notable comeback. If successful, he’d be one of the few U.S. presidents to secure non-sequential terms.
However, many celebrities, including Cher, who threatened to relocate during Trump’s ascent, stayed put and continued to critique his policies and governance vociferously. For example, Cher didn’t mince words in a 2016 tweet, labeling him a “traitor.” Her criticisms continued unabated, evident in her strong words during her accolade at VH1’s “Trailblazer Honors” in 2019.
Cher highlighted her anxiety when confronted with Trump’s rhetoric, contrasting her feelings of reassurance whenever Nancy Pelosi appeared onscreen.
Meanwhile, Trump maintains a significant lead in the polls among potential Republican candidates, with a recent Fox News survey showing nearly 60% support from Republican primary voters. His closest competitors, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, trail significantly.
