Behind the Poll

During the holidays, and especially around Christmas, there’s much more time set aside for family dinners, family traditions, and shared family experiences. It can be especially impactful on children as they learn family values and how they fit in.

Unfortunately, it seems many families neglect to teach family values or hand down family traditions during the holidays.

As Austin rants on his Modern Philosopher blog, “What’s happened to our family values? Why aren’t people spending Christmas at home, dressed in fancy clothes and trapped with family? Are we turning our backs on family? Do we hate Christmas and its traditions?”

It’s a good question to consider. What do you think, is Christmas a good time of year to teach family values to children?
