Former President Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign released a new ad on Saturday that subtly takes a dig at his closest political rival, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

The ad begins with a montage of flattering clips of Trump, set to the patriotic song “God Bless the U.S.A.” by Lee Greenwood. But about 30 seconds in, the tone of the ad changes as cameos of DeSantis start to appear, accompanied by less-than-flattering footage of the governor and a look at recent polling numbers that show Trump leading DeSantis in the Republican primary.

The ad also features a clip from the Trace Atkins song “Whoop a Man’s Ass,” with the lyrics “That’s the point that he’ll get the point, he’ll probably back down” playing over the footage of DeSantis.

The ad is the latest in the ongoing battle between Trump and DeSantis, who are both considered to be potential frontrunners for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024. The two men were once political allies, but their relationship has soured in recent months as they compete for the same base of support.

The ad is sure to further escalate the rivalry between Trump and DeSantis, and it will be interesting to see how the Florida governor responds.
