Donald Trump has been living at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida. The 20-acre estate was built in 1927 by Post cereal heiress Marjorie Merriweather Post. The property has been referred to as the Winter White House.
The United States is still under a State of National Emergency pursuant to Executive Order #13848 from September 2018. On September 10, 2020, Trump extended this for one year due to the “unusual and extraordinary threat to National Security.” (It is now set to expire September 12, 2021.)
This gave Trump the authority to set Continuity of Government Readiness Conditions (COGCON) to Level 2, which provides the opportunity to set up a temporary “shadow government.” Because of this, some people speculate that Trump is still in control.
