Rep. Ronny Jackson from Texas expressed on Tuesday that Rep. Kevin McCarthy’s position as Speaker might be at risk if he doesn’t address conservative expectations and leans on Democratic support to prevent a government shutdown.

Jackson emphasized the importance of acknowledging the concerns of conservative factions like the Freedom Caucus and others. When questioned about the possibility of challenging McCarthy’s role as Speaker, Jackson stated, “It seems likely.”

He further added, “Relying on Democrats to push through significant House legislation could pose challenges for the leadership. Given the current rules, such a scenario seems bound to occur.”
